On Friday, the Poteet Pirates were able to grind out a solid win over the Corsicana Tigers, taking the game 25-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Gavyn Barcelo threw for 89 yards on eight of 17 attempts. Nile Rivers was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Dalarian Rose rushed for 36 yards.
Poteet's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Corsicana, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poteet will venture away from home to take on Kaufman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Corsicana, a feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers challenges Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corsicana is facing Greenville at the right time seeing as Greenville is stuck on a six-game losing streak
